This part of the OWLS area represents a mixed (short and tall) native grasses area and does not provide trees for shelter. A solution to this problem is to attach wooden boxes to posts. These boxes provide the same type of nesting cavity as found in a tree, cliff overhang or cave.
Look for sparrows, wrens and small warblers along this stretch of the trail. Notice the Bird boxes, each one have a special shape or entry to welcome a particular type of bird. You will find robin nesting shelters and blue bird boxes.
