2008-09 PTO BOARD OFFICER VACANCIES
It’s hard to believe that we’re already looking toward the 2008-09 school year! We have a few known vacancies for the next school year. If you are interested in serving PTO on the board next year, please contact your student’s teacher, a board member or Ms. Wood.

Co-President – Debbie Losey will return to the board next year as one of the two Co-Presidents. This is a position that provides leadership to the board and helps ensure that PTO activities are coordinated appropriately.

Co-VP of Fundraising – This is a position that helps coordinate our annual fundraiser as well as a few other smaller activities throughout the year. Note that changes next year may include prepaid fundraiser (dramatically reducing the money collection tasks) and Treasure Chest sales will be discontinued after this year.

Secretary – The secretary takes minutes during board meetings, keeps the board aware of action items and creates the monthly newsletter.

Greater detail of the Board, officer positions, and activities, along with PTO Bylaws can be found in your PTO Guidebook .

    HOLIDAY PARTY REMINDER

A quick reminder that during the three school wide holiday parties (Fall, Holiday, and Winter), we ask that arrangements be made for care of younger siblings and other non-CDS siblings refrain from attending.  While we definitely encourage and invite ALL parental involvement, we had several rooms well beyond capacity during our Fall parties with older siblings attending. Our room mothers can not possibly be able to plan for food and treats for more children than assigned to the classroom.  Younger siblings are more than welcome to come with parents during other volunteer times such as Wednesday Workdays and Field Days, etc.

    Fundraising

    CAMBPBELL’S LABELS AND BOX TOPS
This year’s collection contest has begun! A chart of the classroom’s progress will be posted in the school so students and parents can see how each class is doing. Classrooms will earn an extra recess with Ms. Wood when they meet their goals. The class in each grade level collecting the most labels and box tops this year will earn a pizza party at the end of the year! Remind family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to keep their labels and box tops for your student.
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

    WHITE’S NIGHT
Shop at White’s IGA on Thursday, November 15th from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. and CDS PTO will get DOUBLE REWARDS for your receipts! Tell your family and friends. This is a great and easy fundraiser for the CDS PTO while you stock up for your holiday cooking!

    VALUE CHECK BOOKS
Don’t forget about Value Check Book sales are ongoing throughout the school year. Save at your favorite restaurants or make it a great stocking stuffer! Just $12 for hundreds of dollars of savings and $6 goes to CDS PTO.
