GO ON A BOOKFAIR SAFARI!
PTO SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS COMING
Monday, October 20– Thursday, October 30

The Scholastic Fall Book Fair, themed “Book Fair Safari,” will soon be arriving. The book fair is sponsored by the Challenger/Discovery PTO.  Beginning Monday, October 20, we will be open during normal school hours.  During Conferences, we will follow the hours of school conferences.

As a special part of the book fair, we will be participating in Scholastic’s One-for-Books Promotion.  A donation jar will be placed near the check-out register.  Students and parents can donate loose change to the One-for-Books Promotion.  Scholastic will match the total collected in books of equal value, which will be selected from the Book Fair by Debra Cooksey, Functional Applied Academics Special Education Teacher, and Abbra Fussell, Structured Learning Special Education Teacher.  These selected titles will be placed in Cooksey’s and Fussell’s classrooms for use by their special education classes.

Challenger/Discovery Librarian Marsha Wells stated, “We are so happy to be sharing the profit from the One-For-Books promotion with the classes of Debra Cooksey and Abbra Fussell.  Our school certainly needs additional books for our special education students.”   In addition, Scholastic sends that amount of cash in the donation container to Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc., The National Center for Family Literacy, and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

Parents can call Marsha Wells, Librarian, in the  library at 794-4231 if they have questions about the book fair.  Come and Join the Book Fair Safari.  We are looking forward to visiting with you and your children.
