2008-09 Principals
The PTO function is a support organization for the students and staff of the intermediate schools.  Last year, through fund raising, they provided recess equipment, supplies for classrooms, and AR rewards.  They also raised funds for an outdoor classroom area for classes to use during the school year. PTO also provides room parents who organize all of the holiday activities. Their support is deeply appreciated by the Challenger and Discovery Intermediate Schools.

The PTO would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with the teacher meals during conferences. Your donations of time, money and food were greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank everyone who volunteered at the book fair. And finally, thanks to all the room parents and volunteers who made the Spring Parties such a success. We couldn't do it with out all of our wonderful volunteers.

We have another volunteer opportunity for you.
 
CALLING ALL 5TH GRADE PARENTS
We desperately need PTO Board members. To get ready for the Challenger/Discovery split, we would like to seat two boards next year. We will have no returning board members from Discovery, all positions are open. The two PTOs will meet and work together during the 2009-2010 school year to prepare for the split. The Site Council is responsible for providing advice and counsel for evaluating state, school district, and school site performance goals and objectives in recommending methods which may be employed at the school site to meet the goals and objectives of the school.  Goals and objectives are established by the district Board of Education.

All regular and special meetings of this council will operate within the Kansas Open Meetings Law and shall be open at all times to representatives from the school district.  Please contact a building principal if you have an item for the meeting agenda.
