Discovery Intermediate Learning Center PTO & Site Council Information
2008-09 PTO Board
The PTO function is a support organization for the students and staff of the intermediate schools. Last year, through fund raising, they provided recess equipment, supplies for classrooms, and AR rewards. They also raised funds for an outdoor classroom area for classes to use during the school year. PTO also provides room parents who organize all of the holiday activities. Their support is deeply appreciated by the Challenger and Discovery Intermediate Schools. PTO News Target in the September Take Charge of Education Payout As part of the September Take Charge of Education donation, Target is awarding Discovery Intermediate School with a check. This payout is a direct result of the parents, teachers and school supporters who participate in the program, which has earned this school $85.69 since 1997. Through Take Charge of Education, families, teachers and members of the community have an easy way to raise money for their school. When they sign up and designate an eligible K-12 school, Target donates up to1%of every purchase they make with their REDcard (Target Visa Credit Card, Target Credit Card or Target Check Card) to the school. Take Charge of Education dollars are donated to schools twice a year. Over the past 11 years, schools have used the funds for whatever they needed, whether it was books, field trips, new technology or supplies. Take Charge of Education is part of Target’s broad commitment to education and is designed to enhance educational efforts for children in communities across the country. |
