Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you to all students and teachers for attending our recent Spring Book Fair!There were many fabulous books at this year’s fair, and the kids and adults were excited to have it here.As of this printing, we did not know any of the winners of our drawings or giveaways.These will be printed in the next newsletter. really appreciate all of the support for this fundraiser, as all of the profits stay in the Earhart library to purchase more books for our school.

William Allen White Book Award
The William Allen White (WAW) book award is unique in that Kansas kids in the 3rd-8th grades get to vote on who the winner will be (I don’t even get to vote!).The book that gets the most votes from kids in Kansas is the winner! Our Earhart 3rd & 4th graders who have heard or read at least 2 books from this year’s 3rd-5th grade book list will be able to vote in March for their favorite book.

These books can be found at our school library or any public library.I have read every book on the list and really enjoyed all of them. I’m glad that I can’t vote – I don’t know how I would ever choose which one was my favorite!

This list shows all the computerized AR tests that are available to take at Amelia Earhart Elementary School.

Please feel free to find these books anywhere - public libraries, bookstores, bookshelves at home, etc. As long as a student has read the entire book by the same author, they can take the AR test at Earhart Elementary regardless of where they found the book. Please note that the student must read the entire book. Watching movies or only reading parts of the book do not count and will result in a lower AR test score.
