NutriKids To Give Parents Online Access To Student Lunch, Breakfast Accounts

A new point-of-sale system will give parents easier access to their children’s lunch and breakfast accounts, while speeding up the  lunch line in school cafeterias.  NutriKids will become operational April 10-13 with two cafeterias coming online each day that week.

Initially, only students and staff will notice a change when they check out at the register after going through the lunch serving line. Rather than scanning the student’s ID card, each student will access their own lunch account at the register by entering a 4-digit PIN number on a keypad located at the register. The 4-digit PIN number will be the last four digits of  their student ID number found on the child’s ID card. The number can also be accessed at the register by the attendant. Staff members will perform the check-out process for elementary school students.

Beginning with the 2007-08 school year, NutriKids will give parents the opportunity to confidentially view their child’s meal account online, keep track of balances, and see the items their children are purchasing. Funds can continue to be deposited to the account with the district’s online fee payment available by clicking the "Online Fee Payment" button above.

Greg Kalina, Director of Nutrition Services, noted there will be no changes in payment of meals or how funds are deposited to student accounts. “We are pleased to introduce NutriKids in Goddard and feel it will bring our school cafeterias up to date with where we should be for a school district this size,” Mr. Kalina said.
