Notes from the Principal...

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Spring is here!  The birds are chirping, the sun is shining and the flowers and trees are beginning to bloom.  As this time arrives, I always take time to reflect upon the year.  When the students began in August, they arrived in their classrooms with knowledge from the previous year. As the year progresses, the students continue to soak up the knowledge being presented and really begin to “shine”.  It is always exciting to see how much the students have “blossomed” by the end of the year.  As parents, you should  be very proud of your students. They are a great group of kids,
and I am very proud of their accomplishments.

Accomplishments... The teachers work very diligently throughout the year to make sure they are covering the correct state standards and students are working hard in the classroom.  Currently, our 3rd and 4th grade students are in the process of state testing and their results are looking amazing. This is a team effort from grades K-4 to accomplish outstanding scores.  Look for preliminary results on the website in June.

Students... It is always a joy to greet the students when they enter the building in the morning.  They always have a smile on their faces and stories to share. This year the discipline referrals to the office have been minimal. The students at Earhart truly want to be in the classroom learning and that is something to brag about.

Staff... Every job at Earhart is essential in keeping the building operating.  We are thankful for our paras, secretaries, support staff, food service, building engineers, and teachers.  I have observed staff members truly reaching out to make our students successful. Staff Appreciation is May 5th – 9th.  Please take time to thank those that touch the lives of your child.

Parents... Thank you for sending your child to school on a regular basis.  Thank you for serving on committees, volunteering in classrooms, supervising field trips, and assisting with other school activities. There are so many activities that we could not do without your help.  Parent volunteers will be receiving an invitation to join us for a Parent Volunteer breakfast on May 16th.   Once again, thank you for everything.

This has been a wonderful year.  The month of May will be here before we know it.  Please continue to check the website for updated information, especially throughout the summer.

Yours in Education,
Mrs. Natalie Rust
