Thank You
Thank you to all the WONDERFUL volunteers who helped make the 2011 Santa Shop a success! We really appreciated all the volunteers who helped shop for gifts, set up the shop, tear it down, take pic-tures for the website, and those who served as personal shoppers, cashiers, and gift wrappers. The stu-dents had a great time shopping for special gifts. Events like this would not be possible without the continued support from our volunteers!!
The winter classroom parties were so much fun – our thanks to all the room parent coordinators and parent volunteers who helped bring holiday cheer to the classrooms!

Volunteer of the Month!
Congratulations to Kelli Black for being Volunteer of the Month for November. Don't forget to enter your name into the drawing for each time you volunteer at school (1 entry for each event "shift" or each time – 1 hr minimum – volunteered during school hours).

PTO Elections
Per the PTO By-Laws, all Board Officers shall be appointed in the month of March. If you would like to become more involved at Explorer, please consider serving on the PTO Board. Appointed Officers in Explorer's PTO consist of a president, vice-president in charge of fundraising, two vice-presidents in charge of volunteers, treasurer and secretary. Please contact Mr. Howell or any of our current officers if you would like to be considered for the upcoming election. What a great opportunity to support your school!

Are you ready for some BINGO?
Planning is underway for the 2nd Annual Explorer BINGO Fundraiser. Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 11th from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Do you offer a product or service that would make a great prize or auction item? More information will be coming home soon re-garding how you can help!

Just a few reminders about Box Tops - They do have expiration dates; make sure they aren't cut off. Only the UPC code is needed for the Campbell's soup labels. The entire box top or tear strip from bags is needed for the Tyson labels. Click on the logos below for more information.

Register your Dillons card at www.elabelsforeducation.com and each time you purchase a Campbell’s product at Dillons a point will be credited to Explorer’s account. Then when you clip and turn in the UPC from that product we will get credit for it again. This offer has been extended through June 30, 2009, so if you haven’t registered your card yet, now is the time so we can get credit for all of your Campbell’s shopping.

Target Red Card – If you don’t have one yet this is the time to get one, before all that Holiday shopping. The school gets a percentage of what you spend. You don’t have to get a credit card if you don’t want one. Target Red Cards are available as debit cards or credit cards. You can apply for a card at the store or at their web site, which you can get to by clicking on the Target Logo at the bottom of our website. Then click on “How it Works.” For the debit card you will have to download the application and mail it to them. Your Target Red Card will be mailed to you. Once you have your card go back to their web site. On the “How it Works” page look for “Enroll in Take Charge of Education.” Yes, it’ll take a bit of time to get it all set up, but once you’re registered you do nothing more but use you Red Card when you shop at Target and you’ll be giving money to Explorer.

Pull Tabs from Soda Cans – This isn’t for us, we collect them for Ronald McDonald House, but keep saving. The people at Ronald McDonald House really appreciate it.

Box Top Winners

Save and turn in...Place in containers designated in the foyers of each class pod. Grades will compete against each other, not class against class. Each child in the winning class gets a pick from the prize box.
