Please remember your teacher(s) during this week
They’re the Best!!

Thank you to the PTO Officers and committee volunteers for helping see many PTO sponsored projects through this year. Thank you, also, to the many parents who have helped in numerous ways this past year to make Explorer the best school for our children. We couldn't do it without you!

2008-09 PTO Officers

VP, Fundraising Coordinator - Teri Kennedy
VP, Volunteers Coordinator - Andrea Parker & Tron Williamson
Treasurer - Amy McGreevy
Secretary - Eva Lull

We are still in need of a volunteer to fill the President’s position. Mellisa leaves some big footsteps to follow in, but the remaining officers will offer a fantastic amount of experience and support to the parent accepting this position.

Please Contact Don Howell 794-4181 if interested in becoming PTO President.

Wishing Star Program

We’d like to draw your attention to the “Wishing Star” wall – located in the NW hallway catty corner from the office. This provides a way for the teachers to communicate their personal requests for items needed for their rooms. If you’d like to purchase one of the items on a “Wishing Star”, feel free to take the star from the wall and return it and the item to the office or the classroom. Many thanks in advance for your generous donations.

Free Fundraising

This year we decided to do something a little different for the Box Tops and Campbell’s label collection winning Pod. The winning pod gets to select (each student) a prize. The prizes are pencils, erasers, pencil toppers, etc. So far the kids have really enjoyed being able to pick a prize.

The winners so far are as follows:
September - Kindergarten/Pre-K Pod
October - 1st Grade Pod
November - 1st Grade Pod
December - 3rd Grade Pod

We have earned around $1,100 from Box Tops and several hundred points from Campbell labels. Keep up the good work! Keep clipping those labels!

Thank You! Teri Kennedy, Vice President Fundraising

Save and turn in...Place in containers designated in the foyers of each class pod. Grades will compete against each other, not class against class.
