It’s hard to believe another school year is coming to an end.  As I walk through the hallways and observe in the classrooms I’m always amazed at how much the kids grow not only physically but socially and academically throughout the school year.  The growth they make throughout the year emphasizes how hard the parents and teachers in this district work to empower student success!

The last month of school is already here and will again bring many opportunities for parents to become active in their students school activities.  We begin the month with our Books and Breakfast Celebration and then have our Annual Oak Street Elementary Zoo Trip!  We will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, Field Day and also enjoy the yearly Oak Street Talent Show.  Make sure to mark your calendars for these exciting events and don’t forget to bring your cameras!

A big “HOORAH” to the 3rd and 4th grade students at Oak Street for performing so well on the State Reading and Math Assessments.  Preliminary scores look very good and the students will be celebrating their hard work with trips to the bowling alley during the month of May!  Fourth grade students will also get to tour the district Intermediate Schools as they prepare to transition to the new buildings next year.

Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for making my first year as Principal at Oak Street Elementary such a wonderful one.  I have enjoyed working with each and every student as well as the many volunteers that have graced the classrooms of our phenomenal school.  I look forward to seeing all of you in the fall!  Again, thank you for sharing your kids with us and have a fantastic summer!
