Winter has arrived at Oak Street Elementary, or has it? The weather has turned cold, then warm, then cold again! We definitely are NOT complaining though as the kids have been able to get outside much more this month and enjoy the great January weather.

February will bring lots of preparation for the 15th Annual Oak Street Elementary Carnival which will be held on Saturday, March 10th! PTO is still looking for volunteers as well as donations for the —Take a Chance? drawing room and —Silent Auction? room. The Valentine's Parties, Spring Pictures, 1st Grade Music Program, Donuts with Dad's, and Conferences will conclude the month of February.

In March the third and fourth grade students will begin taking the State Reading and Math Assessments. Please try to avoid scheduling any appointments or vacations during this time. It's also important that your child gets a good night's rest as well as a balanced breakfast! Spring Break will finish out the month of March and is scheduled for the 19th through the 23rd.

Again, I look forward to seeing all of you at the upcoming Oak Street Elementary events. If I can be of any assistance to you or your child don't hesitate to contact me!
