What is PTO??

Parent-Teacher Organization - Fostering a supportive relationship between parents, teachers and the community while working closely with the administration, all for the benefit of our students and betterment of our school.  (Operates under the authority of the USD 265 Board of Education.)

If you are unable to attend a PTO meeting and have signed up for activities on the Parent Involvement Form, please call Stephanie Yost at 722-4387.

Throughout the year the parents, students and community have been so supportive of the PTO and its many fundraising activities. These activities provide the “extras” that go into the education of our children. No one realizes this more than the teachers and staff at Oak Street Elementary.

Oak Street Elementary Party Guidelines
And......Tasty, Healthy, Food Ideas

Nutritious foods are encouraged when used as part of a social event in the schools.  During the school day, schools should limit the use of food at celebrations that are not considered a healthy choice.  Please plan on providing no more than 1 sugary snack at each school party.  Please remember to check with your classroom teacher regarding any food allergies. 

Fruit

  • Fresh Fruit - fruit kabobs, add cheese & dip in yogurt, fruit cups, applesauce
  • Frozen Fruit - strawberries, pineapple chunks, peaches & grapes
  • Dried Fruit - try raisins, apricots, apples & pineapple
  • Fuzzy Bananas - Dip in orange juice and roll in crushed peanuts or cereal
  • Fruit Salad
  • Fruit Smoothies - milk or yogurt blended with fruit
  • Fruit Juice Popsicles - pour juice into containers, add a stick & freeze!

  • Vegetables
  • Raw Veggies with dips or salad dressing (carrots, green peppers, tomatoes, etc.) 
  • Ants on a log- celery with peanut butter or cream cheese & raisins
  • Build your own salad
  • Veggie Pockets - use whole wheat pitas and let the kids add their veggies

  • Healthy Grains
  • Whole-Wheat English Muffins, Pitas, or Tortillas - wrap-n-roll sandwiches
  • Breakfast Cereal
  • Crackers
  • Rice Cakes or muffins
  • Popcorn - jazz it up by adding parmesan cheese
  • Baked Tortilla Chips - serve with salsa
  • Granola & Cereal bars
  • Pretzels, Breadsticks and Flatbread
  • Nuts - peanuts, almonds, walnuts
  • Trail mix

  • Low-Fat Dairy Foods
  • Yogurt & Frozen Yogurt
  • Cheese 
  • Pudding
    Don't forget to continue and save your Boxtops and Campbell's Labels. They can be turned in at Oak Street Elementary.  Returns 1% of all purchases towards the school of your choice.  For more info… www.orgsites.com/ks/oakstreet


  • Target Take Charge Of Education Fundraising Program
    Hit The Bullseye With This One……Help Earn Money For Oak Street Elementary!  When a member of the school community uses their Target Visa or Target Guest Card to make purchases, Target will donate money to our school:
    1% of Target Visa or Target Guest Card Purchases made at Target or Target.com.

    1/2% of Target Visa purchases made elsewhere.
    Apply at any Target Store and help out our school.
