Scrapbook Project
Students enrolled in FACS complete a scrapbook in which it is requested of them to bring in pictures of their childhood (1 baby picture, one childhood picture with a special story), family (2 or more), and friends (3 or more). If you do not feel comfortable letting them cut or glue these pictures, I have a scanner available to copy the pictures onto computer paper.  Other items students may wish to include are magazines of special intrests or special markers and pins. Students really enjoy this project as they get to share a lot about themselves and their families with their friends..

Sewing Projects

In class, we will be constructing two projects, a pair of shorts and a drawstring bag. A course requirement is that your student purchases his or her own fabric to complete the projects.   The material needs to be a woven cotton (flannel, gingham, chambray, poplin, etc.)  In addition, all students enrolled in FACS are responsible for a $2.00 fee for aid in purchasing thread, elastic, string, patterns, and any costs associated with sewing equipment repair, which are all supplied to each student in class.  Upon completion of the projects, your student may take his or her project home.
