Ms. LeCluyse's math classes completed rotations practicing real world math as Quick Trip employees. They added, subtracted, and multiplied decimals to help calculate totals, gas mileage, the price to fill up a tank of gas, and word problems to help organize inventory.

Our PLTW classes spent time building their own 89th constellation. They had to design, name, and write a story about it. They did such a fabulous job!

This has been School Psychology Week!
We are so grateful to have Mariah Nguyen, Ed.S., as the School Psychologist at Discovery Intermediate! She works closely with our students and teaching staff to ensure students are being supported in the best way possible. She is an amazing resource for all of us here at the school.
She says: "The best part of my job is getting to collaborate with amazing teachers and staff to determine the supports each student needs to succeed in the classroom. I love watching students take off and thrive academically once they are able to get the help they need. "
Thank you, Ms. Nguyen, for all you do for Discovery!

Tomorrow is the last day for our Food Drive! We are currently about 200 items behind Challenger.
Classes will get points for boxed meals tomorrow, but we are collecting any unexpired, nonperishable items. As always, thank you for your support!

Ms. Nixon's classes worked together to create their Hero's Wall for Veterans Day. Ms. Nixon loves to hear all the stories that accompany the pictures that are sent in with her students.

Our Discovery Choir participated in Goddard Sing! last Friday at GHS. Each group of students had a different clinician, which gave them the chance to experience a new style of conducting. Choir students from across the district participated in this afternoon of practice and had their performance Friday night for their families.
We are so proud of how well they performed!

"A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results." – Wade Boggs
Congratulations to Mrs. Robin Perkins for receiving the District Attitude Award! Robin was nominated by Piper White and Dane Baxa. Piper White wrote, “The print shop is not an easy or stress-free environment especially when you get multiple orders each day from all around the district, but Robin does so with a smile on her face. At the beginning of the year (or her busiest time) she and her staff worked so hard to make sure all staff had the orders before the first day of school. On top of just getting us the orders she also wrote positive messages that always leave us smiling. Robin communicates effectively, and if there is ever a rush order needed, she is not afraid of the challenge. Robin is a rock star!”
Dane Baxa wrote, “Robin Perkins stepped up to help the District in a big way after the sudden loss of Nancy Johnson. Robin is more than just a skilled Print Shop operator; she’s a problem-solver who brings positivity and energy to her work every day. She often anticipates the needs of teachers, administrators, and staff, frequently stepping in to assist with last-minute requests and high-volume projects without hesitation. Her reliability and willingness to do whatever it takes to support others have made her an invaluable resource.
She developed a plan to visit every school during orientation, making a personal connection with as many staff members as possible, building positive relationships, and explaining the services she provides and the process for submitting print jobs.
Beyond her exceptional technical abilities, Robin’s attitude exemplifies the values of our district. Her commitment to excellence and genuine kindness uplift everyone she works with. She is always quick to offer encouragement, inspiring our Community Relations Team and those around her.”
