Between prom, spring sports, and the approach of graduation, spring is a time for celebration and looking forward to the bright futures of our students. It is, however, also a time when we must prioritize the safety and well-being of our community. We believe that no family should ever have to experience the tragedy of a life cut short, or a future ruined, due to the choice to drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Mock DUI Experience at Eisenhower High School
To provide a powerful, firsthand look at the realities of impaired driving, the USD 265 District Police Department and Eisenhower High School will be collaborating with local law enforcement agencies to host a Mock DUI Collision event.
Date: Thursday, April 16th
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Location: Eisenhower High School Parking Lot
What to Expect
During this time, our 11th and 12th-grade students and our community will see and hear a significant presence of emergency vehicles. Our dedicated community partners will be arriving at the school with active red lights and sirens to simulate a real-world emergency response. Participating agencies include:
Goddard Public Schools Police Department
Garden Plain Police Department
Wichita Fire Department
Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office
Kansas Highway Patrol
Wichita State University Police
Sedgwick County Emergency Medical Services
Our Goal
The purpose of this simulation is to show our students, in an impactful and memorable way, that one bad choice can have lasting consequences. We want our EHS Tigers to celebrate safely and return home to their families every single night.
We thank our local first responders for their partnership in this vital educational effort and appreciate the community's support as we work together to keep children safe. If you do not wish for your 11th or 12th grade student to participate in this exercise, please reply to this email and your student will remain in class during the presentation.
Thank you for your continued support.
