Many in our #265Family are familiar with the T.I.E.S. (Transition to Independence, Employment & Success) programming and how the interns consistently represent the Goddard Special Education Cooperative with pride. One way, recently, that our T.I.E.S. interns have shown up in a big way is by operating a booth at the KASEA (Kansas Association of Special Education Administrators) Winter Conference, held February 24th & 25th, 2026 at the Drury Hotel in downtown Wichita!

Alongside other Kansas programs for students with diverse learning needs, from ages 18 - 21, Goddard T.I.E.S. interns proudly showcased their handmade soaps and artisan snack mixes: products they create right here as part of building real-world skills and independence. The booth was more than just a proud display, it was a reminder of what's possible when we invest in students with differing abilities. Attendees also had the opportunity to connect and network with post-secondary programs available to interns after high school, and to share the T.I.E.S. story with other districts across the state.

The team welcomed the day full of great conversations, new connections, and SO many smiles! Not only is the whole #265Family immensely proud of these interns and the incredible work they do, we want to extend thanks to the T.I.E.S. staff members and other special education staff who helped bring this idea to life. Educators within the Goddard Special Education Cooperative work hard every day to create independence within interns, help them build skill sets, and help connect them with employment or additional services for the future — and days like this show exactly why that mission matters so much!
