Congratulations to Andrew Vang (P.E. Teacher, Goddard Academy) for receiving the District Attitude Award from the USD 265 Board of Education! Vang was nominated by Shaheem Sanders, Special Education Teacher at Goddard High School, who shared the following, “I believe this nominee is deserving of the Goddard Public Schools District Attitude Award because they consistently demonstrate a positive, student-centered mindset that impacts both individuals and the broader school community. They approach challenges with professionalism, optimism, and a solutions-focused attitude.. Their willingness to step in where needed, support others without hesitation, and maintain high expectations reflects a genuine commitment to the success of the entire school.
Additionally, this nominee fosters a culture of respect, collaboration, and encouragement. They build strong relationships with students, families, and staff, creating an environment where people feel valued and supported. Their attitude is not limited to words but is evident in daily actions in uplifting others, maintaining consistency, and leading by example. This unwavering positivity and dedication make them a powerful influence within Goddard Public Schools and truly deserving of this recognition.”

Congratulations to Emma Talbert (8th Grade Student, Eisenhower Middle School) for receiving the District Attitude Award from the USD 265 Board of Education! Talbert was nominated by Crystal Petty, USD 265 Transportation Bus Driver, who shared the following, “I am nominating Emma Talbert for the Attitude Award because she brought kindness, positivity, and genuine care into my family. She is always helpful, encouraging, and the kind of person who makes those around her feel supported.
My daughter, Chastity, was new to the district and very shy. There were many afternoons when Chastity and Emma waited at Transportation while I finished work and while Emma’s grandparents finished. From the very beginning, Emma took Chastity under her wing. She welcomed her, helped her feel comfortable, and formed a friendship that made a world of difference.
Emma not only helped Chastity stay on task with homework, but she also kept up with her own work without missing a beat. She included her, talked with her, and made sure she never felt alone. Because of Emma’s kindness and leadership, Chastity gained confidence socially and academically.
Emma’s caring nature, positive attitude, and willingness to look out for others make her truly deserving of the Attitude Award.”

Congratulations to Caden Enos (7th Grade Student, Goddard Middle School) for receiving the District Attitude Award from the USD 265 Board of Education! Enos was nominated by Kylie Rush, Gifted Facilitator at Clark Davidson Elementary School, who shared the following, “I am pleased to recommend Caden Enos for our district’s Attitude Award. This is the second year that Caden has worked with our team. Each week, Caden volunteers his time to support Clark Davidson's robotics team, and his impact on our students has been remarkable. He works with every child on the team—including those who can be challenging—always with patience, respect, and a calm, encouraging presence.
Caden consistently arrives prepared. He regularly spends hours of his own time learning the coding concepts and challenge parameters so he can better support our team. He creates his own challenges for the students to test their skills. In fact, he often teaches both the other coach (Mrs. Martinez) and me new strategies or explanations we can use with the team. The younger students admire him and respond to him - often giving him 'points' at the end of each practice. Caden also makes a sacrifice that most people don’t realize: he steps away from his own robotics team to mentor our younger students. He doesn’t do it for recognition or credit. He does it because he cares. That alone tells you everything you need to know about his attitude, his maturity, and his heart.
Caden embodies the spirit of this award in every sense. He has made our team better, our students more confident, and our program stronger. I recommend him wholeheartedly and without hesitation.”

If you're ready to make an impact - inspiring students, empowering teachers, partnering with families, and building meaningful connections - we want to hear from you. Come join our #265Family!

Congratulations to Ashley Zimmerman (Special Education Teacher, Amelia Earhart Elementary School) for receiving the District Attitude Award from the USD 265 Board of Education! Zimmerman was nominated by fellow Earhart teacher, Abby Archer, who shared the following, “Ashley was new to our Kindergarten team this year and completely jumped in and immediately became a part of our team! She is such a team player and is always willing to go above and beyond to help in any way that she can without hesitation! She is the first to volunteer to help and support the needs of ALL of our students, as well as our classroom teachers! She has been an amazing addition to our Kindergarten team and truly deserves recognition for all that she does for our team! We are so thankful for her and her room of amazing teachers!”

“Be the person you needed when you were younger.” - Melissa Ponzio
Congratulations to Tyler Priddle (USD 265 Police Officer) for receiving the District Attitude Award from the USD 265 Board of Education! Priddle was nominated by Tiffany Spradling, Registrar & Attendance Secretary at Discovery Intermediate School, who shared the following, “Officer Priddle is a huge asset to the Goddard Public Schools police force. He always goes above and beyond when we call for assistance. I appreciate his leadership in various situations at school, always prioritizing the safety of the students and staff involved but making sure everything is handled appropriately. As a parent, I am so grateful for the time he puts in connecting with the students at Goddard High School. His involvement in various activities, being in the hallways between classes and at lunch, and being so visible during football games makes such a difference. Seeing him on the track, interacting with the cheerleaders, dance team, color guard and student section makes him seem so much more accessible to the students, which is so important when students need to come to him with problems.”

Congratulations to Rachel Dodge (Special Education Teacher, Clark Davidson Elementary School) for receiving the District Attitude Award from the USD 265 Board of Education! Dodge was nominated by colleague and fellow CDS Special Education Teacher Kayla Nush, who shared the following, “Mrs. Dodge is more than just a great teacher. She is a phenomenal leader, mentor, and teammate. She takes on so many roles as an advocate for students and staff. As a first year IS teacher, she has gone above and beyond to answer every question, provide support when it was needed the most, and model how to be a great leader. Mrs. Dodge never fails to put others first, whether students or staff, and is a daily example of how impactful a teacher can be. Her desire to learn more and share best practices is the embodiment of what a natural leader does. I have had the privilege of knowing and working with her both as a parent and as a co-worker, and the impact that I have seen her have on my own child as well as other students is a huge part of why I wanted to be part of the USD 265 team. CDS and the Goddard school district benefit daily from the love, devotion, and unparalleled support that she pours into every day. I am beyond thankful for her guidance, and the impact that she has had on the success of my own child in the district as well as the many others that she continues to impact every day. Thank you Mrs. Dodge for showing up every day and pouring your heart into teaching!”
