Happy December! Yearly on December 2nd we recognize National Special Education Day. We find this date a perfect moment to identify all of our Special Education Staff. At Oak Street we have 5 Interrelated Teachers (1 per grade), Three Mixed Abilities Teachers, over 20 Paraprofessionals, 2 Speech Pathologists, 1 Occupational Therapist, 1 Physical Therapist, 1 Adaptive PE Teacher, 1 Social Worker and 1 School Psychologist busy working with all students. This picture is just a sampling! So glad we could get together on December 1st to reflect on this special day tomorrow and how this group assists our students with such care!

Oak Street Elementary Spirit Night is at Chick-fil-A December 4th from 3-10 pm at the Maple & Ridge location. Tell them you're with Oak Street and they will donate 20% of the proceeds back to the PTO.

GHS Boys Basketball is hosting a camp November 28 and November 29 at GHS from 6:00-7:30. This camp is open to boys in grades 3-8.

Some people have Spring cleaning, but Mrs. Mullen has Fall cleaning. She has been busy cleaning out the Tiger Ticket Prize area to make room for all the new items! This prize winning group earned a bag o' fun with a variety of age appropriate prizes! We went with two winners per grade this week as a thank you for all the great tiger traits shown over the past 5 days. Sometimes it is even more challenging when our schedules are unique and switched up to do the right thing, but this group proved they could persevere! Proud of you tigers! Have an amazing Thanksgiving Break!

A little more feast prep by some very special ladies last night.

Lots of great updates!

A very big thank you to our parents and students. We were able to donate 809 items this year for the Goddard Mitten Tree food drive. A special thank you to these fourth grader helpers, as well as Ms. Burr & Fawna for the extra help with sorting & boxing. The top 3 classrooms were: Mrs. Rausch, Mrs. Moses & Mrs. Enegren. We couldn't have done it without you!

Check out the second grade team plus Mrs. Wolff, our new Title Teacher. They are all decked out in Be Kind shirts for World Kindness Day. What a perfect feature for Motivational Monday. This group does everything with kindness in mind and teaches this trait to their students. We appreciate all 5 of you, and the kindness you show to our Oak Street Staff and Students. Thank you for being you!

What a special week we have had at Oak Street! The students earned Tiger Tickets for showing their amazing traits, but the staff also earned tickets. Our staff is consistently modeling the correct trait whether it was respect, perseverance or responsibility. When showing these traits this week, staff members were given a ticket by another staff member. It was an amazing thing! We have never seen our ticket box so full! Congratulations to all. Students, please enjoy your book with 100 questions and staff enjoy your Scooters gift cards. Well deserved prizes all around.
(Mrs. Hagel was very concerned that she was pictured in pajamas, but we know she was just celebrating 2nd grade earning a PJ day!)

These classroom buddies from Ms. Burr and Mrs. Enegren’s room had the opportunity to have donuts with veterans this morning. They learned more about the importance of honoring this special day and got to ask real veterans some questions. The special guest veterans are Miss Payton’s dad and Ms. Sue’s husband! What a great way to honor this special day.

Sweet friends matching in maroon.

Student of the month Tiger Trait winners were announced today. Congratulations to these Tigers for showing courage.
